Last weekend I went on a little shopping trip to Auckland. It’s always good for me to see what other clothing is out and about, plus what other stores are showing or trending. Great news, we certainly have more new stock in our Caroline Eve stores than most other major brands, so that’s excellent. I feel we are much further ahead when it comes to the new season arrivals as some stores are only just starting to get new items in.

With so much exciting new stock arriving every week, our stores are full to the brim with so much colour and lots of print. Print is a major part this season, along with stripes, zigzags, and Aztecs. Florals are still here too but gosh the stripes and bold prints are forefronting the fashion rails right now. With that, it brought me to look at the rails in my studio of the new arrivals. There are so many beautiful colours and prints this season but sometimes you may like to keep it simple with a classic black and white print. Just the contrast between black and white can make for a graphic print statement all on its own.

Prints are very personal, if you go with a striking black and white, you can easily include gray coloured add-ons. Or you can embrace the opportunity to be bold and add some bright colours like orange or Kelly green, yellow, bright pink and even gold for the summer months. Our lovely chiffon that I am showing you today has a gorgeous fine stripe of gold lurex through the fabric. Just adding lively details like this can dress up your everyday look with shine and flare.

These are simple stylish pieces to add to your wardrobe - that you can wear now and lighten or brighten up for the summer months a bit later. Most black and white prints are universally appealing, so go bold and make a statement for these warmer months while keeping it classy and classic with simple stylish accessories.
