I was merchandising our new season new arrivals at our Waikato store recently and I was delighted to see all the Suede look jackets and skirts had arrived into our stores. They have a look of luxury about them and honestly they make a great work horse in any winter wardrobe. They are so wearable, so functional and a garment you can just wear again and again. We love these garments that work so well and yet so easy.

Talking about easy... for a start they have the look of suede but they are actually 92% Polyester and 8% Elastane which makes this blend so easy to care for. Simply pop into your wash cycle and hang to dry. No need for fragile care or the dry cleaners. This is the game changer for a suede looking jacket that you can wear with everything, it will fast become your new go-to for everywhere you go.

There is a variety of lengths and styles on offer catering for different body shapes and styles. I personally like the longline jacket with the single button. It’s very plain and for that reason it’s my favourite as it makes it just so easy to pop over anything you’re wearing. This jacket style is 4053WW and is only $159.99 coming in a three beautiful colours - Ruby, Emerald and Sapphire.

Another style with completely different colours but again quite long in length is Jacket 4061WW at $169.99. This one comes in Olive, Black and a new Cocoa colour. There is a real trend for chocolate colourways this season, so this is where the Cocoa comes in. Quite a large collar revere, dome closure and epaulettes on the shoulders are back too.

One more style I like very much but is much shorter is the jacket 4051WW in some fresh new colours like Ice Blue, Light Bronze, Silver, and Ruby. Again very plain but short, just wear over a printed dress and you’re done. The Ice Blue is particularly nice if you’re a blue lady as it is a lovely soft tone to it.

Getting away from the jackets for a bit, but just as useful, is the skirt, style 4063WW and only $89.99 - you’ll be wanting more than one of these in your wardrobe. Ever so slightly an “A” line shape with a zip at the back for easy dressing. Great colours like Olive, Black and Light Bronze. Just the perfect weight to wear with knitwear and the perfect length to cover the knees, so I would love to see this worn with long length boots for the high fashion look.

With the change of the seasons, it’s nice to embrace the season with some new textures, colours and styles, and with this suede look you can have the look and feel of luxury, yet so functional... and that’s a huge help to us all in this changeable weather we seem to be all getting.
